D.A.R.E. and School Resource Officer

The Sussex County D.A.R.E. program  is conducted during the school year for the 6th grade middle school students.  Deputy Ricks is a certified D.A.R.E. instructor.  Corporal Johnson serves as School Resource Officer.

Deputy Ricks teaches the program using nationally certified materials and methods known to promote Drug Abuse Resistance through Education.  In addition to her D.A.R.E. Instructor duties, Deputy Ricks serves as Town of Waverly Emergency Communications Supervisor.

Corporal Johnson is assigned to Sussex County Middle School.  He maintains security for students and staff alike.  His presence alone is a deterrent to potentially serious disciplinary problems.  When problems do occur, he is on the scene to diffuse tense situations and to take action to safeguard life, limb, and public property.
